Bad and worse

As we’ve repeatedly emphasized, the possibility that the IRS was acting under orders from the White House, as alarming as it is, is far less so than the “dog whistle” alternative. If the IRS did the bidding of the party in power without having to be ordered, then the federal government itself, not just the current administration, is so corrupt as to call into question the very integrity of American democracy.

Taranto should know better. Since the entire federal bureaucracy is now under the control of the far left unions, there is virtually no chance of public sector unions allowing its members to target lefty organization even with direct orders from their supervisors nevermind subtle winks and nods from a conversative president should one ever miraculously appear.

I’m not sure what you mean. I think Taranto believes that too and is part of his point of how that calls in to question the integrity of American democracy.

I mean the entire federal bureaucracy is leftist and there is practically no chance they’d do the bidding of a conservative administration if it would mean dismantling the system they’ve put into place.
