Aristrocracy of Pull

We are seeing the “aristocracy of pull”, as Ayn Rand termed it, flowering under the manure that is POR-care — the number of waivers jumped to 729 immediately after the State of the Union address. This demonstrates that

  • POR-care is clearly seen as a burden, contrary to much of the rhetoric put out during the debate.
  • Favored constituencies will get a pass, political opponents will bear the full brunt. “Unity” is for suckers.

I strongly doubt, however, that the usual suspects who go on about “corporate privilege” will show any concern at all about this blatant, political favoritism. It is yet one more cost of regulation which is consistently ignored.
