America is struggling with a sputtering economy and high unemployment — but times are booming for Washington’s governing class.

Yep, it’s why there’s just no sense of urgency at fixing our economic problems, especially if it means any smaller slice of the pie for the public sector.

If my company fails, I’m certainly gonna try and get a nice government job next. That’s where the money, security, benefits, and even power are. I’m such an idiot for working in the private sector - what was I thinking?

I’m working on enlightening my children. Education and experience that can either get into cushy government jobs, jobs with large flexibility in terms of hours, or preferably both.

Much, much better to be a looter than lootie.

I think we should all do that. After all, government spending has a net positive multiplier, and government jobs are better than private sector, so in the same way we have a minimum wage the goverment should simply outlaw private sector jobs. After all, jobs are even more important than health care to citizens — something so fundamentally should never be left to the private sector!

P.S. Note this — Congressional Democratic Party members supporting the idea of extending the “Bush tax cuts”. What really gets me is that these people knew this all along, but only electoral disaster (and not financial disaster for the nation) can convince them to do it. After all, even President Obama’s economics czar says tax increases cause the economy to contract.

I think in that picture of Pelosi, she’s saying, “then let them eat cake!”
