Union thugs are gearing up for demonstrations to attack “enemies” of Obamacare:
But Health Care for America Now (HCAN), which is backed by a coalition of labor unions and liberal groups including ACORN and, organized the protests to target insurance companies and drafted the plan, which describes the demonstrations as part of its “insurance enemies project.”
Even worse, they are openly talking about stoking anger.
The document, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times, details specific talking points, tactics, props and strategies to stage the protests. It lists goals that include action that “mobilizes our base by animating existing anger about private insurers.”
Must be more of that Pitchfork Politics President Obama is infamous for.

I am sure this is former President Bush’s fault somehow, or perhaps the fault of those bitter gun and bible clingers. Surely the MAL wouldn’t deliberately rile up people’s anger! That’s so right wingish!

the nation is watching these union brownshirts, creating an opportunity for a republican candidate to tee off on unions. the next gop administration should ban unions from working in government (or whatever entity replaces the gop).

Yes, it’s little wonder that public opinion of unions is the lowest ever measured.

One should note that it’s large (if not almost entirely) a problem of union leadership, a leadership which regularly betrays its own members for their own benefit. Perhaps it’s just not possible to have unioons with non-corrupt leadership in America. Or perhaps it is an artifact of the New Class control of Old Media which, as it does for the Democratic Party, avoids informing the public so the union leadership has less need of even pretending to be looking out for anyone but themselves.

My take on union-leader corruption is that it’s a symptom of organizations without a real mission, groups just treading water. All of the union movement’s main goals were institutionalized into legislation LONG ago: Shorter workweeks, pensions, safer working conditions, disability payments, minimum wages…

Now they’re all about self-serving trivia like featherbedding and trying to cut themselves in on Wal-Mart’s gargantuan profits…

That’s primarily why private-sector unions are steadily shrinking, while civil servant unions are growing - although the decline in employment in the manufacturing sector is also a factor.
