I was going to write about the entire “President Obama gives speech to school kids” issue but Ed Morrisey at Hot Air beat me to it. I completely agree that what it really demonstrates is the stunning convergence of arrogance and incompetence that characterizes the Obama Administration. Had Obama not released the “study guides”, or had those guides not been so arrogantly pro-Obama, this would have been a non-issue. Had Obama released the speech at the same time, it would have not have gained so much traction. Had Obama not spent the last 8 months basking in his own little sun lamps of self-admiration and used up the slack the American Street gives a President, it wouldn’t have been such a problem. It took a serious amount of execution failure to get to where the Obama White House arrived.
P.S. Let’s be very careful to not forget that when then President Bush gave a similar speech, a Democratic Party controlled Congress launched an investigation instead of doing as the Obamatons said and just accepting it as irrelevant pablum.
Yes, and let’s not forget how Bush and his administration were portrayed in major media before we condemn Wilson for calling Obama a liar or protesters putting Obama’s likeness on a poster that says witch doctor, when what he wants to do is bring medical care in this country down to the level of a third world country.
Accusations of racism are getting really old and I don’t think anyone is buying them anymore.

We should also remember that just before Representative Wilson made his outburst, Obama had effectively said to Wilson “you lie!” but apparently that’s OK.
wilson has received over $1m in contributions since he called obama a liar :)

Cite: Washington Post hints that the speech was scrubbed after the initial outrage from what the critics expected to the anodyne pablum actually spoken. I can’t say I would be a bit surprised.
