Re-stating for politeness

Linguistic puzzle time —

I posted this a while back and was pondering using it in real life, but then remembered erp’s objection to the phrasing. I was, however, unable to come up with a non-scatological version that had the same combination of resignation, despair, and disgust at the necessity of such a choice. Any suggestions?

How about:

“Choose McCain, the BaHard spot.”

I was looking for something to replace just the first two words. “So be it” is too resigned, not enough anger. “Screw it” is just a slightly more polite and euphemistic version.

You may need a full aphorism rather than just a substitute for a curse.

“Because things will get worse at a slower rate.” ?

I want to express that sharp feeling, that moment of committed resignation, when you finally accept that you’re going to do something painful and unprofitable despite the costs because all of the alternatives (including doing nothing) are even worse.

Hold your nose and vote for McCain.

Not small enough for a bumper sticker but…

The voting age is 18, the drinking age is 21, so most people will be able to vote for McCain.

Gideon;

That’s already on the bumper sticker.
