My weekend —
Flies real good ‘cause it’s all wood
Green Rage Squadron
The best memories of my 1970s youth were shooting off Estes rockets, culminating in a 3’ multistage Saturn V w/full paintjob, level 5 difficulty, with a triple-D class engines.
I’m amazed given modern liability/lawsuits you can still shoot these suckers off. Your grandkids are blessed.
Well, actually, these are my rockets. This weekend was the first time the oldest flew a rocket he built himself. He seemed quite enthused, so hopefully he’ll take it up as a hobby. He still needs a few years of experience to be able to fly ones like these, but I already have one of these Saturn V kits waiting for that day.
As for you, it’s never too late to come back …
My Saturn V went up to 100’ and then turned over and impacted before the parachute fired. But the takeoff on 3Ds was magnificent.. one of my best father/son memories.
