Still digging

We got whumped here with some serious snow (2-5 feet over most of the yard). I managed to shovel the driveway clear last week to see it filled in again yesterday. This morning was spent trading off kid monitoring and snow shoveling with SWIPIAW.

How can you build character in your children without snow to shovel?

Make them clean out their closets when the whim strikes you.

Addendum - for the boys, I mean. That adorable little girl gets a pass.

i show them pictures like the one above :)

but there might be something to what you say; it seems like socal does have a negative effect on a person’t character. can’t quite put my finger on it, but it is almost like an ecosystem that is lacking in certain elements. the result is stunted growth.

we are planning to leave in the next couple of years, but aren’t sure where to go. i like colorado (lived there 5 years) but its economy is boom and bust. florida has some interesting aspects, but from what i read is a corrupt mess of a state. new england seems good, but is dying economically. everyone always says their area is nice, and if you grew up there it probably is. oh well…
